Men’s Golf Closes Out Fall Schedule with Third Place Finish at Poppa Flowers Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team placed finished the fall portion of its schedule as it finished third at the 27-hole Poppa Flowers Invitational hosted by John Carroll University on the River Greens Golf Course. 

BW was third of three teams with a 27-hole total of strokes of 474 on the par-72 and 6,668-yard River Greens layout.   John Carroll University was the team champion with 451 strokes. 

The BW "A" Team was led freshman Drake Tobias (Macedonia/Nordonia) as he tied with rounds of 78 and 39 for a total of 117.  Sophomore Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) carded rounds of 81 and 37 for a total of 118.  Junior Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) fired rounds of 82 and 37 for a total of 119.  Sophomore Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) carded rounds of 85 and 40 for a total of 125. Rounding out the top five was freshman Blake Glista (Beloit/West Branch) with rounds of 80 and 46 to finish with a total of 126.

The Yellow Jacket "B" team was led by senior Tommy Glenn (Avon) as he shot rounds of 86 and 43 for a total of 129.  Junior Adam Morris (Grafton/Midview) tallied rounds of 90 and 40 for a total of 130. Junior Brayton Thornburg (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) had rounds of 86 and 48 for a total of 134. Freshmen Jared Budner (Macedonia/Nordonia) posted rounds of 88 and 47 for a total of 135. Junior Jack Kyle (Bay Village/Bay) finished with rounds of 94 and 44 for a total of 138.

BW returns to action when it opens its spring portion of its schedule in March when it will compete either Arizona or Florida for its annual spring break trip.
