Miller Cards Career Low to Lead Men’s Golf to Third Place Finish at OAC Fall Invitational

HINCKLEY, Ohio – Junior Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) carded a career-best 71 in the final round and place third to lead the Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team to third place finish at the Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational at the Pine Hills Golf Club. 

BW, who served as the host, was third of nine teams with 605 strokes, including a season-best 296 in the final round, on the par-72 and 6,748-yard Pine Hills layout.   Otterbein University was the team champion with 587 strokes.  The Yellow Jacket final round 296 was the second lowest round of the day and the third lowest of the entire invitational.

The BW "A" Team was led by Miller as he had a round of 74 on day one and a career-best two-day total of 145. Sophomore Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) carded rounds of 76 and 74 for a two-round total of 150 to place tied for sixth. Freshman Drake Tobias (Macedonia/Nordonia) shot rounds of 80 and a career-best 74 for a two-day total of career-best 154. Sophomore Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) tallied rounds of 79 and 77 for a two-day total of 156.  Rounding out the top five was freshman Blake Glista (Beloit/West Branch) had rounds of 83 and 81 to finish with a two-round total of 164.

The Yellow Jacket "B" team was led by junior Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) carded rounds of 88 and 81 for a two-day total of 169.  Junior Adam Morris (Grafton/Midview) tallied rounds of 89 and 83 for a two-round total of 172.  Freshmen Jared Budner (Macedonia/Nordonia) fired rounds of 87 and 88 for a two-day total of 175. Junior Jack Kyle (Bay Village/Bay) shot rounds of 89 and 86 for a two-round total of 175.  Junior Brayton Thornburg (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) round out the five with rounds of 93 and 91 for a two-day total of 184.

Playing as individuals were seniors Tommy Glenn (Avon) and Brandon Fatsie (North Olmsted).   Fatsie, who was playing in just his second collegiate tournament, tallied a 93 in the first round and finished with a career-best 83 for a career-best two-round total of 176. Glenn turned in rounds of 92 and 89 for a two-round total of 181.  

BW is back in action on Saturday and Sunday, September 23-25 when it travels to Alliance to compete in the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Course.

The Yellow Jackets close out the fall portion of their schedule on Saturday, September 30 when it travels to West Lafayette to compete in the 27-hole John Carroll University Tournament at the River Greens Golf Course.
