Men’s Golf Finishes Tied for Fourth at Nye Intercollegiate Invitational

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished tied for fourth place at the rain shortened Nye Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster at the Wooster Country Club.

The invitational was originally scheduled for a two-day event but Sunday's final round was washed out.

BW, who was tied with the University of Mount Union, was fourth of 10 teams with 310 strokes on the par-72 and 6,545-yard Wooster layout.  Mount Saint Joseph University was the champion as its final player of the day chipped in for birdie for the one stroke victory over host Wooster with a total of 300.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) as he fired a round of 75 to finish in a tie for seventh place. Sophomore Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) carded a round of 76 to finish in a 10th place tie.  Sophomore Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) posted a round of 79.  Freshman Drake Tobias (Macedonia/Nordonia) tallied a round of 80.  Rounding out the top five was freshman Jared Budner (Macedonia/Nordonia) with a round of 83.

Playing as individuals were senior Brad Fatsie (North Olmsted), juniors junior Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) and Jack Kyle (Bay Village/Bay) and freshman Blake Glista (Beloit/West Branch). Kyle fired an 83, Glista carded an 86, Blaine posted an 88 and Fatsie had a 96.

BW is back in action on Saturday, April 21 when it travels to West Lafayette to compete in the River Greens Invitational hosted by John Carroll University at the River Greens Golf Course.
