Clark Fires Career Round to Lead Men’s Golf to Third Place Finish

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio – Sophomore Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) fired a career-best 73 and placed second to lead the Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team to a third-place finish at the John DiCillo Invitational hosted by John Carroll University at the Shaker Heights Country Club. 

BW was third of four teams with 328 strokes on the par-70 and 6,70-1 yard Shaker Heights layout.  The University of Mount Union was the team champion with 304 strokes.

In addition to Clark, who was one stroke off the leader, junior Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) carded a round of 81.  Freshman Drake Tobias (Macedonia/Nordonia) shot a round of 85.  Freshman Blake Glista (Beloit/West Branch) tallied an 86. Freshmen Jared Budner (Macedonia/Nordonia) rounded out the top five with a round of 96. 

The Yellow Jacket "B" team was led by sophomore Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) shot a round of 79.  Junior Jack Kyle (Bay Village/Bay) posted a round of 85 while junior Adam Morris (Grafton/Midview) was right behind with an 86.  Junior Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) had a round of 90 and senior Tommy Glenn (Avon) turned in a round of 100.

Playing as individuals were junior Brayton Thornburg (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) and sophomore Brandon Fatsie (North Olmsted).   Thornburg had a round of 85 and Fatsie tallied a 107 in his first collegiate round.

BW is back in action on Sunday and Monday, September 17-18 when it hosts the Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational at the Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley Hills.
