Men’s Golf Places Second at Purple Raider Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf finished second at the two-day Purple Raider Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union at the Alliance Country Club.

BW finished second of three teams with a final score of 609. Mount Union won the two-day invitational with a score of 604.

BW was led by, senior Matt Kershner (Independence), senior Scott Schroeder (Aurora), and freshman Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted). Kershner shot rounds of 75 and 74 for a team-best score of 149, Schroeder carded rounds of 74 and 76 for a total of 150 and Clark fired a round of 77 on day one and a career-best 75 on day two for a final of 152. Senior Weston Lucas (Strongsville / Christian Community School) shot rounds of 81 and 77 for a final score of 158  and sophomore Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) posted rounds of 87 and 85 for a total of 172 to closed out the top-five for the Yellow Jackets.  

Sophomore Hunter Miller (Frankfort / Adena), freshman Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa. / Erie Cathedral Prep), sophomore Jack Kyle (Bay Village / Bay),  sophomore Adam Morris (Grafton / Midview) and junior Tommy Glenn (Avon) each played as individuals for BW. Miller posted rounds of 79 and  a career-best 72 for a total of 151, Ladaika carded rounds of 78 and 80 for a score of 158, Kyle shot two rounds of 84 for a total of 168, Morris fired rounds of 98 and 93 for a score of 191 and Glenn finished with rounds of 103 and 94 for a score of 197.  

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on September 18 and September 19 when they travel to Tiffin where they will play at the Mohawk Country Club for the Heidelberg Fall Invitational.
