Men’s Golf Finishes Seventh at Gatorade Collegiate

LAWRENCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf opened the 2016-2017 season with a seventh place finish at the two day Gatorade Collegiate hosted by The College of Wooster on the Zoar Village Golf Course.

BW finished seventh with a final score of 610. Ohio Wesleyan University won the two day tournament with a score of 579.

The Yellow Jackets was led by, senior Scott Schroeder (Aurora), senior Weston Lucas (Strongsville / Christian Community School) and freshman Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted). Schroeder shot a 74 on day one and two for a team-best 148 final score. Lucas and Clark each carded rounds of 76 on day one and 77 on day two for final scores of 153 for both of them.

Sophomores Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) carded two rounds of 78 for a final of 156 and Hunter Miller (Frankfort / Adena) finished with rounds of 83 and 84 for a total of 167 to round out the top five.

Senior Matt Kershner (Independence), sophomore Jack Kyle (Bay Village / Bay), freshman Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa. / Erie Cathedral Prep), sophomore Adam Morris (Grafton / Midview) and junior Tommy Glenn (Avon) each played as individuals. Kershner finished with a score of 151, Kyle carded a final score of 157, Ladaika shot a 160, Morris carded a final score of 172 and Glenn finished with a final score of 183.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, September 11 and Monday, September 12 when they travel to Alliance where they will play at the Alliance Country Club for the Mount Union Invitational.
