BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team has released their 2022-23 schedule. Under the direction of eighth-year Head Coach Tom Heil, the men's basketball looks to make their return to the OAC Tournament after their OAC Semifinals appearance last season.
The Yellow Jackets will open the season with two exhibition games against NCAA Division I opponents. The season begins with a trip to Cleveland State on November 3. They follow that up with a trip to Kent State University a week later on November 10.
BW returns to Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center on November 12 when they host Hiram College. This is followed up with two games at the Great Lakes Invitational hosted by Wabash (Ind.) College. The Yellow Jackets will take on Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology on November 19. The following day, November 20, they take on Benedictine (Ill.) University.
BW plays one more non-conference game on the road against Penn State – Behrend on November 22 before Ohio Athletic Conference play begins.
The Yellow Jackets open OAC play on the road against Heidelberg University on November 30. They follow that up with a home game against Wilmington College in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader on December 3. They finish the first few OAC games on the road against Marietta College in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader on December 10.
BW returns home for a non-conference game against Hobart and William Smith (N.Y.) Colleges on December 14. They continue a stretch of home games against OAC opponent Otterbein University on December 17. They then host two non-conference games against La Roche (Pa.) University on December 19 and Trine (Ind.) University in the first game of a men's and women's tripleheader on December 29.
OAC play returns with a home game against the University of Mount Union of January 4. The Yellow Jackets then take on Muskingum University on the road for the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader. They follow up that away game up with three consecutive home games against Ohio Northern University on January 11, Capital University in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader on January 14 and John Carroll University on January 18.
BW then hits the road to take on Wilmington in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader on January 21. The Yellow Jackets return home for to games against Heidelberg on January 25 and Marietta in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader on January 28.
BW then goes on the road for three consecutive games against Mount Union on February 1, Otterbein in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader on February 4 and Ohio Northern on February 8. The final home game is against Muskingum in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader on February 11.
The Yellow Jackets finish the season on the road with games against John Carroll on February 15 and Capital in the men's and women's doubleheader on February 18.
BW finished the season with a 15-10 overall record and a 9-7 mark in the OAC. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Semifinals.
