BEREA, Ohio –The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team swept the season series as it defeated Otterbein University in Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 76-61 in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW (15-6, 9-5 OAC), who snapped a three-game losing, won its 14th straight game in the series.  The Yellow Jackets had three players score in double figures led by senior All-OAC forward Jake Fetherolf (Norwalk) as he scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed a game-high tying seven rebounds. Senior All-OAC guard Cam Kuhn (Vermilion) chipped in 13 points.  Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC guard Jay Battle (Gahanna/Lincoln) added 11 points.   Sophomore forward Drew Sova (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) grabbed a game-high tying and a career-best tying seven rebounds.

Otterbein (1-20, 1-13 OAC), who lost its seventh straight game in Berea, last won in Ursprung Gym on February 3, 2011 when it posted a 76-56 victory.  The Cardinals had four players score in double digits led by senior guard Corey Howard and freshman guard/forward Justin Carter each with 12 points.  Sophomore guard Nick Koontz and sophomore guard Cameron Arminio contributed 11 points apiece.

BW jumped out to a 9-2 lead when senior forward Mike Kaminski (Medina) knocked down a three-pointer at the 15:58 mark.  The Yellow Jackets extended the lead to 19-9 when freshman guard Luke Schaefer (Medina) scored on a layup at 11:32. Otterbein cut the lead down to 23-22 on a three-pointer by Corey Howard at the 5:54 mark.  BW closed the half on a 18-7 run to take a 41-29 lead into halftime after Fetherolf tipped in a shot at the buzzer.

In the second half, the Cardinals cut the lead down to 44-34 on a Connor Clark layup at the 17:13 mark.  The Yellow Jackets pushed the lead to 61-48 on a triple by Fetherolf at 9:24. Otterbein cut the lead down to 64-59 on a Howard layup at the 5:27 mark.   BW closed the game on a 12-2 run to secure the 15-point victory.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, February 7 when they travel to University Heights for an OAC showdown with OAC-leading and crosstown rival John Carroll University in the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center at 7 p.m.   BW returns to the friendly confines of Ursprung Gym on Saturday, February 10 when it hosts an OAC game against Capital University on Al Sirat Grotto Day at 3 p.m.
