BEREA, Ohio --  Sophomore  forward Jake Fetherolf (Norwalk) scored a game and career-high 30 points and grabbed six rebounds, but  the Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team lost to visiting OAC rival Muskingum University, 96-88, in an OAC game in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center. This was the nightcap of a men's and women's doubleheader.

In addition to Fetherolf for BW (10-7, 5-5 OAC), sophomore All-OAC guard Cam Kuhn (Vermilion) scored 27 points, all in the second half, and junior guard Brandon Gleim (Hilliard/ Davideson) scored a career-high 16 points. Muskingum (5-12, 2-8 OAC) was led by junior forward Rickey Wilson's 22 points.

In the first half, BW jumped out an early 7-1 lead at 17:42 when Fetherolf hit a three-pointer to account for the first seven Yellow Jacket points. After Muskingum scored five straight points to make it 7-6 at 16:15, BW rebuilt its six-point cushion on four separate occasions with the last at 25-19 at 8:56 when senior Academic All-OAC forward Ryan Walsh (Easton, Pa./ Easton Area) made a hook shot.

The Fighting Muskies scored the next six points to tie it at 25-25 at 6:44, and the Muskies took their first lead at 26-25 on a foul shot.  One more tie and four lead changes led to a 33-32 Muskie lead at the intermission.

The second half began with a tie and six lead changes before the Fighting Muskies went on a 14-4 run to build a 51-43 lead at 15:52.  Muskingum had three separate 10-point leads with the last at 62-52 at 12:07.  BW went on a 16-5 run to retake the lead at 68-67 when Kuhn pulled up on a fast break and buried a triple.

After BW took a 70-67 lead at 6:48, the Muskies reeled off 10 straight points  to take a 77-70 lead at 4:13. The Muskies had their largest lead of the game of 11 points at 87-76 with 59 seconds left. The closest BW would get the Muskingum after that juncture was seven points.
