BEREA, Ohio – Senior guard Justin Roth (Parma) scored a career-high 24 points as the Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team defeated Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College, 77-48, in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center in the final game of a men's and women's basketball tripleheader.  Earlier today, the Yellow Jackets hosted the second of the three-day BW Women's Basketball Invitational.

In addition to Roth for BW (2-1), senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference guard Jaron Crowe (Mentor) scored 12 points and dished out a game-high seven assists. Sophomore forward Jake Fetherolf (Norwalk) scored a career-high 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Senior forward Matt Dennis (Spring Hill, Fla. /Nature Coast Technical) grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.  Washington & Jefferson (0-4) was led by Mike Resnik with 10 points.

In the first half, the Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 10-0 lead on the layup by Roth (Parma) at the 16:08 mark.  The Presidents answered with a 14-9 run of their own to cut the lead down to 19-15 on layup by Resnik at 10:30.  Washington & Jefferson would come no closer the remainder of the half as BW outscored the Presidents 16-11 to lead 35-26 at the intermission.

In the second half, Washington & Jefferson came out on a 5-3 run to cut the lead down to 38-31 on jumper by Eric Holmes at the 18:49 mark.  The Yellow Jackets responded with a 13-7 run to take a 51-38 lead on a jumper in the paint by senior forward Reid Crossen (Jeromesville/Hillsdale) at 14:10.  BW started to pull away when it used a 10-5 run to take the 61-43 lead on a pair of free throws from Roth with 6:45 remaining.   The Yellow Jackets pushed their lead to as many as 30 points down the stretch on a layup by junior forward Zach Warner (Clyde) at the 2:35 mark.

BW is back in action on Wednesday, December 3 when it opens Ohio Athletic Conference action and hosts the University of Mount Union in the Ursprung Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
