Fourth Quarter Rally Sends Football to Overtime Victory Over Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio – In its first overtime game since 2016, the Baldwin Wallace University football team came from 13 points down to defeat Heidelberg University in the Ohio Athletic Conference road finale by a final score of 21-20 in overtime inside Hoernemann Stadium. 

BW (7-2, 7-1 OAC) improved to 51-24 in the all-time series with Heidelberg (6-3, 5-3 OAC).

Offensively for the Yellow Jackets, junior quarterback Joey Marousek (North Royalton) completed 13-of-25 passes for 150 yards with one touchdown and the game winning 2-point conversion pass and one interception.  Senior All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) rushed for 80 yards on 25 carries.  Junior wide receiver Elijah Arnett (Akron/Woodridge) caught five passes for 89 yards with one touchdown.  Freshman wide out Tim Conwell (Avon) caught six passes for 42 yards with an overtime touchdown. Defensively, senior linebacker Dillon O'Donoghue (Cannonsburg, Pa./Cannon-McMillian) recorded a career-high and game-high 12 tackles. 

Offensively for the Student Princes, junior All-OAC quarterback Drew Sims completed 8-of-24 passes for 76 yards with one touchdown and one interception.  Senior Junior All-OAC running back Montavious Yearby rushed for a 219 yards on 40 carries with one touchdown.   Senior All-OAC wide receiver Dimitri Penick caught three passes for 40 yards.  Defensively, senior All-OAC linebacker Zachary Blackiston tallied nine stops.

BW closes out the 2022 regular season on Saturday, November 12 when it hosts an OAC, Seniors' Day and Veterans' Appreciation Day game against No. 2 nationally ranked and defending OAC Champion the University of Mount Union on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 1:30 p.m.
