Football Adds Four Graduate Assistants to Coaching Staff

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Head Football Coach Jim Hilvert has announced the additions of Andrew Cregan '22, Brenton Miller '21, Scott Raber and Andrew Zimmerman '22 as graduate assistant coaches.

"I am excited to welcome our first graduate assistants to the program," said Hilvert.  "Cregan, Miller and Zimmerman all played for me, know the expectations of the program and are excited about getting their coaching start at their alma mater.  Raber brings Division I experience to the table as well as his strong recruiting ties to the Columbus and central Ohio area.  I am looking forward to working with them and seeing them grow in their coaching careers."

Cregan will coach the tight ends.  He was three year letterwinner that appeared in 15 games at punter, tight end, and wide receiver.  Off the field, Cregan was a three-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection, College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) All-District 7 first-team selection, Dean's List Student, Jacket Scholar, and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.  He served as an athletics department game day intern and one season as a student-coach for the women's basketball program.  Cregan earned a Bachelor of Arts in sport management.

Miller will coach the linebackers.  He was a four year letterwinner and All-Ohio Athletic Conference linebacker.  Miller appeared in 30 career games with 12 starts.  He was a two-time BW Outstanding Linebacker Award recipient and a two-time team captain.  Off the field, Miller was a member of the Leadership Council.  Last season, he served as a student-assistant coach working with the safeties.  Miller earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice.

Raber comes to BW after serving as a student-coach at NCAA Division I West Virginia University.  He will coach the defensive backs.   While at West Virginia, Raber worked with the safeties.  He also served as a student-assistant coach at Bishop Ready High School in Columbus working with defensive backs and wide receivers.  Raber earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic coaching education.

Zimmerman will coach the running backs.  He was a two-year letterwinner at quarterback.  Off the field, Zimmerman was a student-assistant in the Office of Athletic Communications where he served as a main statistician for men's and women's basketball and as a spring sports intern in charge of all game day responsibilities. Zimmerman earned a Bachelor of Arts in sport management.

The Yellow Jackets open the 2022 campaign on Saturday, September 3 when they travel to Cincinnati for their lone non-conference game against Mount St. Joseph University at 1 p.m.
