BEREA, OHIO – Junior wide receiver Josiah Holt (Elyria/ Grafton Midview) caught seven passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns as the 9th-ranked (American Football Coaches Association poll) Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jackets fell to Ohio Athletic Conference rival Otterbein University, 38-17, today (Saturday, September 29, 2012) in the 35th Annual Shriners' Game on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.

With its loss, BW is now 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the Ohio Athletic
Conference. With its win, Otterbein is now 4-0 overall, 3-0 in the
OAC and ended a two losing streak to the Yellow Jackets.
Offensively for BW in addition to Holt, senior
quarterback Ryan
O'Rourke (Avon) completed 13-of-22 passes for 260
yards with two touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Michael
Slack (Casselberry, Fla./ Pine Castle Christian
Academy) led the running game with 15 yards on two attempts. Junior
wide receiver Gabe
Adams (Hudson) was second in receptions as he had
three catches for 36 yards. The defense was led by junior
linebacker Michael
Stacchiotti (Girard) with a game-high 16 tackles.
Offensively for Otterbein, Kingcade completed 15-of-20 passes for
268 yards and two TDs. He also ran for 41 yards on 13 carries
including three touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Trey Fairchild had
a team-high six catches for 81 yards and one TD. Senior running
back Brock Burzanko had 74 yards rushing in 19 attempts.
Senior linebacker Chad Pepper had a team-high seven
tackles.
In the first quarter, Otterbein opened the scoring at 3-0 when Nick
Ganus connected on a 22-yard field goal to cap off a Cardinal
11-play and 69-yard drive at the 8:55 mark. Following a
Yellow Jacket punt, Kingcade connected with Joey Robertson on an
82-yard pass to extend the Cardinal lead to 10-0, following an
extra point by Alana Gaither with 5:17 to go in the first
quarter.
The Yellow Jackets answered on their next drive as they drove
72-yards on eight-plays to close the Otterbein lead to 10-7. The
drive was capped off by a 32-yard touchdown reception by
Holt from O'Rourke. Junior

Mohler (Kent/Roosevelt) tacked on the extra point for
BW with 1:17 left in the first.
In the second quarter, Otterbein extended its lead to 17-7 at the
14:57 mark on a five-play, 47-yard drive as it was capped off by
Kingcade as he scored on a six-yard run and Gaither added on the
extra point. Undaunted, the Yellow Jackets drove 71-yards on two
plays to cut the Otterbein lead to 17-14 with 14:05 left in the
half. The drive ended on a 62-yard TD reception by
Holt from O'Rourke, their second
TD connection on the day. Mohler added on the
extra point following the touchdown.
Otterbein's offensive success continued on its next possession
when the Cardinals drove 87-yards on 11 plays to extend their lead
to 24-14. Kingcade recorded his second rushing touchdown on this
drive, this time from four-yards out. Gaither then added on the
extra point with 6:46 left to go in the half. To close out the
half, BW recorded an 11-play 66-yard drive, which was capped off by
Mohler as he connected on a 26-yard field goal
with 24 seconds left in the first half.
Following a scoreless third quarter, Otterbein opened the scoring
in the second half at the 12:03 mark of the fourth quarter when
Kingcade connected on a six-yard TD pass to Fairchild, to extend
its lead to 31-17 after Gaither hit the extra point. The Cardinals
drove 45-yards on six plays on the drive. Following recovering an
onside kick, the Cardinals extended their lead with 6:06 left in
the game following a 10-play 48-yard scoring drive that was capped
off by a one-yard run by Kingcade. This was his third rushing
touchdown of the game. Gaither then added on the extra point to
make the final score 38-17.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action next Saturday, October 6
when they travel to Ada to take on the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern
University in an OAC game at Dial-Roberson Stadium. Kickoff
