Zach Fletcher Joins Baldwi-Wallace College Football Staff as its Offensive Coordinator

BEREA, OHIO --  Baldwin-Wallace College Head Football Coach John Snell has announced that Zach Fletcher has been hired as his new Offensive Coordinator. He succeeds Ian Shoemaker, who left B-W in May to accept the Offensive Coordinator position at NCAA Division II St. Cloud State (Minn.).

Fletcher joins a B-W football program which finished the 2007 campaign at 6-4 overall and had its 40th winning season in the last 41 years.   He also inherits a Yellow Jacket offense that returns five starters who helped B-W average 24.9 points per game.

"We are pleased that Zach Fletcher is joining our football staff at Baldwin-Wallace College and know that he will be a great asset to our program and student-athletes," said Snell, who enters his seventh season as head coach with a 41-21 career record with one NCAA Division III Playoff appearance to his credit. "Zach brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our program. We feel that he will have a great rapport with our student-athletes, faculty and staff and will make a difference in our success."

Fletcher, a 2003 graduate of Grinnell (Iowa) College with a degree in history, is currently pursuing a master's degree in sport mangement and administration from the United States Sports Academy. Prior to coming to Berea, he spent two seasons at his alma mater as its offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator and strength and conditioning coach. Fletcher also served as the Grinnell Fitness Center Director and Video Coordinator.

Prior to returning to Grinnell, Fletcher spent eight months at Dunnellon (Fla.) High School, serving as a teacher in the classroom and as its offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in football.  His first football coaching position was in 2003 when he served as the defensive line coach and conditioning coordinator at Kenyon (Ohio) College.

Fletcher was born in Colorado in 1981 and moved to Florida in 1986. He was a 1999 graduate of Spruce Creek High School in Daytona Beach, Fla. Fletcher arrived at Grinnell in the fall of 1999 and was a four-year starter in football. He earned first-team All-Midwest Conference accolades three times and served as a team captain his final two seasons.
