GREENSBORO, N.C. – Baldwin Wallace University Baseball Head Coach Brian Harrison has been named the 2022 American Baseball Coaches Association/ATEC Division III Region 7 Coach of the Year.

Sharing the honor with Marietta College Head Baseball Coach Brian Brewer, Harrison earns this award by leading the 2022 team to the University's second-ever Division III World Series. Harrison clinched a third-place Ohio Athletic Conference regular season finish, pushing the team to a second-place finish in the OAC Tournament to earn an At-Large bid into the 2022 National Tournament.

Defeating Brockport (N.Y.) College, Johnson & Wales (R.I.) University, and Wheaton (Mass.) College, the Yellow Jackets claimed the 2022 Brockport Regional Championship. Coach Harrison secured his 300th win at BW in the Regional Championship game as he went on to finish the year totaling 302 so far during his tenure.

Advancing to the University's first-ever Super Regional, Harrison again led BW to another championship, topping Endicott (Mass.) College to advance to the 2022 Baseball Championships. The Yellow Jackets concluded the season with 37 wins, becoming the winningest team in school history with a .740 win percentage. This season was the fourth time at BW that Coach Harrison has amassed 30 wins in his 12-year stint, including the shortened 2020 campaign. He was also an All-Mideast Region Coach of the Year in 2014 after BW's only other World Series appearance.

Harrison helped lead the team to a number of other team records including most games played in a season, at-bats, hits, runs, doubles, RBIs, homeruns, homeruns per game, team slugging average, innings pitched, pitching strikeouts, putouts, and team fielding average.

Coach Harrison has also helped to mentor and guide his student-athletes multiple 2022 individual awards, mentoring two All-Americans, four ABCA All-Region players, three D3baseball.com All-Region recipients, four Brockport All-Regional honorees, four first-team All-OAC selections, one second-team All-OAC honoree, four OAC All-Tournament team members, a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) All-American and an All-District recipient, the Elite 90 Baseball Championships Award winner, eight Academic All-OAC selections, and three OAC hitters/pitchers of the week.

The 2022 team finished the year with a 37-13 overall record with a Regional Championship, a Super Regional Championship, and a trip to the World Series under Harrison's guidance.
