BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University baseball team moves up in the D3baseball.com Top-25 national moving, jumping to the No. 9 spot in the most recent poll. Despite dropping one game last week to Allegheny College, the Yellow Jackets have had an impressive early start to the season, putting together a 13-2 overall record.

The Yellow Jackets went 6-1 on their 2022 spring break trip to Port Charlotte, Fla. and went 3-0 just last weekend, putting together three 10-run-rule wins over Hiram College, Defiance College, and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

Despite falling to the Gators last week by an 11-5 score, the BW offense still shined through as junior outfielder Vincent Capolupo (Kenmore, N.Y./St. Joseph's Collegiate) and junior utility player Andrew Parker (Toledo/Toledo Central Catholic) each hit one deep.

BW leads the Ohio Athletic Conference in runs per game (11), homeruns (22), homeruns per game (1.46), RBIs per game (10.13), batting average (.362), and slugging percentage (.601).

The Yellow Jackets return to the field today, Tuesday, March 29 as they are on the road to face Wilmington College in the OAC opener doubleheader. First pitch of the first game is set for 1:00 p.m. with the second game to follow on the Tewsbury-Delaney Field.
