Vonderhaar of Baseball Selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC first baseman Luke Vonderhaar (New Bremen) of the No. 18 nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University baseball team has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 team for the first time in his career.

This season, Vonderhaar has played in 39 games, averaging .338 at the plate and has a slugging percentage of .701. Vonderhaar has hit 27 extra base hits, 14 of them being homeruns, leading the team in that category. He has helped this team secure the BW All-Time Team Homerun Record, Team Runs Scored Record, and Team Runs Batted-In Record. Vonderhaar leads the team in RBIs with 57 and has added 41 runs. He has hit 12 doubles so far this year and has had three two-homerun games.

Vonderhaar carries a 3.986 grade point average as an accounting major. He is also a Dean's List student, a Jacket scholar, and a member of the Dayton C. Miller honor society.

In his career, Vonderhaar bats .330 with a .598 slugging average. In 306 at-bats, he has hit 21 doubles, 19 homeruns, and two triples. He has totaled 101 hits, 91 RBIs, and 77 runs.

BW returns to play Thursday, May 12 as it competes as the third seed in the first round of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament against second-seeded Otterbein University. First pitch against the Cardinals is set for 4:00 p.m. on Don and Sue Schaly Field at Pioneer Park.
