Cody Earns First OAC Pitcher of the Week Honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior right-handed pitcher Danny Cody (Medina/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career.

Starting the second game of the doubleheader against Wittenberg University, Cody had a perfect game going with two outs in the top of the seventh inning before the first baserunner reached on a dropped third strike. One batter later, the no-hitter was broken with a single to third base. Cody threw seven scoreless innings, only allowing the one hit with a season-high and career-high 12 strikeouts in the 10-3 win.

This season, Cody has made five starts, holds a 1-0 record with a 1.80 earned run average and leads the OAC with 43 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched.

For his career, Cody has a 4-4 record with a 4.55 ERA in 83 total innings. He has two career saves and 96 strikeouts.

BW will hit the road for a single non-conference game against Ohio Wesleyan University on Tuesday, March 20, at 3:30 p.m. on Littick Field.
