Badia Earns Second Career Google Cloud Academic All-District Honor

BEREA, Ohio- For the second time in his career, Baldwin Wallace University and All-Ohio Athletic Conference senior infielder Spencer Badia (Bellaire) has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 Team and now advances to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team Ballot.

First-and second-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in June.

A pre-physical therapy major, the senior carries a 4.0 grade point average, is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, a two-time Academic All-OAC selection and a member of Alpha Chi Lambda Honor Society and Chi Alpha Sigma honoraries. He was named as the 2017-2018 BW Male Clyde Lamb Award winner, which is awarded to student-athletes who exemplify great sportsmanlike conduct and have a minimum grade point average of 3.00.

This season, Badia has recorded a career-best .330 batting average. He is fourth on the team in hits (38) and is third on the team with three home runs and 30 runs batted in. He has pitched in one game and struck out a batter. 

For his career, the infielder has amassed a .311 batting average and has hit 14 homeruns, 93 runs batted in and 25 doubles through 138 games. Badia has registered a .926 fielding percentage and 146 putouts throughout his four-year career.

The Jackets finished the 2018 regular season with an overall record of 28-12. With a 11-7 conference record, BW will enter the conference tournament as the No. 3  seed.
