BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference baseball third baseman Spencer Badia (Bellaire) has been named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American.

Badia was named to the second-team. The two-time Academic All-OAC honoree is the 14th all-time Yellow Jacket baseball student-athlete to be named a CoSIDA All-American. He was one of three OAC players on the team.

Badia is a pre-physical therapy major who carries a perfect 4.0 grade point average. He is a Dean's List student, a member of the Alpha Lambda and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies and a Jacket Scholar. He also received an Academic Excellence Award -- Highest Grade Point Average Award from the University.

On the field this season, Badia batted .323 (43 for 133) with 30 runs scored, an on base percentage of .405 and a slugging percentage of .534. He hit a career-high six home runs and eight doubles, one triple, 27 runs batted in (RBI) and stole 10 bases in 10 attempts. BW finished 22-17 overall.

In his career, Badia has helped the Yellow Jackets fashion a 76-49 record with one NCAA Tournament and two OAC Championship Game appearances. He has a career batting average of .304, an on base percentage of .415 and a slugging percentage of .480. He has tallied 21 doubles and 11 homeruns with 63 RBI.
