BEREA, Ohio --Baldwin Wallace University junior first baseman Kyle Chontos (Pickerington/ North) was named second-team ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association) and D3Baseball.com Division III All-American.

Chontos has been instrumental in BW (29-18) winning its school-record 29th game, first-ever Regional Championship and advancing to its first-ever Division III College World Series appearance. The Yellow Jackets open play today (Friday, May 23) at the World Series in Appleton, Wisconsin versus Emory (Ga.) University at 2:15 p.m. (EST).
 
Chontos, who has already earned first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference and first-team ABCA/ Rawlings All-Mideast Region honors and was an All-Mid-Atlantic Regional all-tournament team choice last week, leads the team with a .380 batting average (71-for-187), five home runs and 49 runs batted-in (RBI) and a school-record-tying 18 doubles. He also has 45 runs scored, one triple and 11 stolen bases.

The winner of the BW versus Emory game will play the winner of the game between defending national champ Linfield (Ore.) and St. Thomas (Minn.) on Saturday, May 24 at 5:30 p.m. EST. The loser plays the loser of that game at 11:00 a.m. EST. The 2014 NCAA Division III National Championship Game is slated for Tuesday, May 27.
