Mixdorf Joins Cross Country and Track and Field Programs as a Graduate Assistant Coach

BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University Coordinator of Cross Country and Track and Field and Head Cross Country Coach Joe Eby has announced the addition of Jay Mixdorf as a graduate assistant coach for cross country and  track and field.

"We are super excited to add Jay to the staff," stated Eby.  "He comes from one of the premier Division III programs in the country in Wartburg and has the knowledge and experience of what it takes to compete at the national level. He is also very creative and has a great work background that will serve him well on the administrative side of the coaching world.  He is a great addition to our program!"

Mixdorf comes to BW after earning a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Wartburg (Iowa) College this past May.  While at Wartburg, he was a member of the cross country and track and field teams.  Mixdorf was a four-time All-American Rivers Conference (ARC) performer in track and field and an All-ARC selection in cross country.  He was a member of the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship team and was a Wartburg Cross Country Attitude Award recipient.

"Upon receiving my undergraduate degree, I was delighted to receive the opportunity to join BW's staff as a graduate assistant for cross country and track and field," said Mixdorf.  "They say, "Home is where the heart is" and after seeing the passion, dedication, and character of this program I have had no doubts about making Berea, Ohio my home. I look forward to learning from my fellow coaches and can't wait to dive into the 2022 season."

The Yellow Jackets open the 2022 cross country season on September 1 when they travel to nearby Wooster to compete in the annual The College of Wooster Invitational at the L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course.
