Track and Field Teams Picked Sixth in OAC Indoor Coaches Poll

BEREA, Ohio—
The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's track and field teams have been picked to finish sixth in the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Coaches Preseason Polls.

In the men's poll, BW was picked to finish sixth with 43 points. The University of Mount Union was picked first with 80 points and eight first place votes. Ohio Northern University finished second with 73 points and two first place votes. Otterbein University was third with 63 points, John Carroll University was picked fourth with 58 points and Heidelberg University rounded out the top-five with 48 points.

In the women's poll, the defending NCAA Division III national champion Yellow Jackets were picked to finish sixth with 42 points. Mount Union was picked to finish first with 81 points and nine first place. Otterbein finished second with 71 points, John Carroll was third with 61 points, Ohio Northern was picked fourth with 59 points and one first place vote, and Heidelberg finished fifth with 48 points.

Second-year Head Coach Matt Cole, returns 16 men's letter-winners from last year's squad and 14 on the women's team. The men finished sixth and the women finished fifth at the OAC Championships a season ago.

BW begins its 2017 season on Saturday, January 21 when it travels to Ada for the OAC North Split hosted by Ohio Northern inside the ONU Sports Center.
